First Trust launch three AlphaDEX based ETFs on LSE & ISE

The three ETFs are identical to product currently also listed on NYSE Arca and are described below:

The First Trust United Kingdom AlphaDEX® UCITS ETF (the “Fund”) is based on the Defined United Kingdom Index. The index employs the AlphaDEX stock selection methodology which uses fundamental growth and value factors to objectively select stocks from the S&P United Kingdom BMI index which may generate positive alpha relative to traditional passive indices. The index is a modified equal-dollar weighted index where higher ranked stocks receive a higher weight within the index.

The First Trust US Large Cap Core AlphaDEX® UCITS ETF is based on the Defined Large Cap Core Index. 

The index employs the AlphaDEX stock selection methodology which uses fundamental growth and value factors to objectively select stocks from the S&P 500 Index which may generate positive alpha relative to traditional passive indices. The index is a modified equaldollar weighted index where higherranked stocksreceive a higher weight within the index.

 

The First Trust Emerging Markets AlphaDEX® UCITS ETF is based on the Defined Emerging Markets Index.

The index employs the AlphaDEX stock selection methodology which uses fundamental growth and value factorsto objectively select stocks from the S&P Emerging Markets BMI index which may generate positive alpha relative to traditional passive indices. The index is a modified equal-dollar weighted index where higher ranked stocksreceive a higher weight within the index.

At Cranberger we have started to record if any Smart Beta Constraints are build into the Index Methodology. Currently we monitor the following Constraints of the Index methodology against the Benchmark exposure, of which the Alphadex has no constraints listed:

- Country Exposure

- Sector Exposure

- Factor Exposure

- Tracking Error

- Turnover
